Volleyball Recap: Addelyn Widmer Leads a Balanced Effort to Beat Esparto

Buckingham Charter won the last time they faced Esparto and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Knights walked away with a 3-1 win over the Spartans. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Knights.

Buckingham Charter was especially dominant in the second set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-22, 25-15, 19-25, 25-16.

Buckingham Charter's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Addelyn Widmer, who had 12 kills, seven blocks, and four aces. Widmer has been hot for a while, having posted two or more blocks the last 11 times she's played. Another player making a difference was Justice Wright, who had ten aces and one block.

They weren't the only good server: Buckingham Charter was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 34 aces. That's the most aces they've posted since back in October of 2024.

Buckingham Charter's victory bumped their record up to 2-0.

Buckingham Charter didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 3-1 defeat against Sacramento Waldorf on the 22nd. As for Esparto, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 3-1 loss against Winters on the 25th.
