Basketball Recap: Torrington Piles Up the Points Against Burns

Torrington entered their tilt with Burns on Friday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They breezed by the Burns Broncs to the tune of 75-35. That 40 point margin sets a new team best for the Trailblazers this season.

Torrington's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Mac Hibben led the charge by almost dropping a double-double on 13 points and nine boards. With that strong performance, Hibben is now averaging an impressive 2.1 steals per game. Landre Greiman was another key player, going 5 for 11 en route to 15 points in addition to six rebounds and five assists.

Torrington smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive boards they've posted since back in February of 2024.

Mason Medley and Shaw Martin certainly did their best on Friday to avoid the loss. Medley dropped a double-double on 12 points and ten boards, while Martin went 5 of 9 on his way to 14 points. Medley has been hot recently, having also posted two or more steals the last four times he's played.

Torrington is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 5-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.8 points per game. As for Burns, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost seven of their last eight contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-9 record this season.
