Basketball Recap: Buffalo Lake-Hector-Stewart Takes a Loss

Buffalo Lake-Hector-Stewart was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 23rd straight defeat dating back to last season. They took a 65-49 bruising from the New Ulm Cathedral Greyhounds. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Greyhounds this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 80-42 back in January.

New Ulm Cathedral was led to victory by Jake Finstad and Eli Anderson. Finstad almost dropped a double-double with 17 points and nine rebounds, while Anderson went 6 of 14 en route to 15 points and four steals. Finstad also grabbed seven steals, which is notable because New Ulm Cathedral is undefeated when he posts at least five steals, but 6-11 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Jack Edwards, who posted six points in addition to five boards and five steals.

Buffalo Lake-Hector-Stewart's loss dropped their record down to 0-19. As for New Ulm Cathedral, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 9-11 record this season.

Buffalo Lake-Hector-Stewart didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 91-38 defeat against Springfield on the 6th. As for New Ulm Cathedral, they have also already played their next game, a 74-54 loss against Cedar Mountain on the 7th.
