Baseball Recap: Pioneer's Run of Four Straight Wins Now Over

After flying high against Wood last Tuesday, Pioneer came back down to earth. The Patriots lost 14-8 to the Central Catholic Raiders on Wednesday. The Patriots were not able to make up for their defeat to the Raiders from their previous meeting back in May of 2023.

Cisco Quintana made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Aaron Angulo, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

With the loss, Pioneer broke their four-game winning streak and moved their record to 8-6. As for Central Catholic, their victory was their 14th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 9-4.

Pioneer didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, a 5-4 defeat against Wood on the 27th. As for Central Catholic, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 7-0 loss against St. Mary's on the 29th.
