The West Park Panthers will challenge the Kennedy Cougars at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The timing is sure in West Park's favor as the squad sits on five straight wins at home while Kennedy has been banged up by nine consecutive losses on the road.
West Park will roll into the game after a wild two-game stretch: they only put up two runs on Wednesday, then bounced right back against Antelope on Friday. The Panthers blew past the Titans 11-1. The Panthers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 13 contests by seven runs or more this season.
Bradley Hunter looked comfortable as he pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two hits in five consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Christopher Fisher was a standout: he went 2-for-3 with four stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. He has been hot for a while, having posted at least one stolen base the last 18 times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Ayden Deome, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with two runs and two RBI.
West Park always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .613. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Antelope only posted an OBP of .318.
Meanwhile, Kennedy had to endure a 16-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They walked away with a 6-3 victory over West Campus on Saturday.
Tony Pedroza made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has become a key player for Kennedy: the team is 2-1 when he allows at most one hit, but 2-21 otherwise. Pedroza was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in two of his three plate appearances with one stolen base and one run.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Ashton Luckenbill, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run. Those two stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Oliver Parkinson, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.
West Park is on a roll lately: they've won 13 of their last 15 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-6 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.8 runs on average over those games. As for Kennedy, the victory was their first at home , bumping their record up to 4-22.
Kennedy's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: West Park has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .482. It's a different story for Kennedy, though, as they've only averaged .338. Will they be able to contain West Park's hitters?
West Park took their win against Kennedy in their previous meeting on April 4th by a conclusive 33-0 score. Will the Panthers repeat their success, or do the Cougars have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
