Downingtown East waltzed into their matchup on Thursday with four straight wins... but they left with five. They put the hurt on the Kennett Blue Demons with a sharp 3-0 victory. That's more bragging rights for the Cougars, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Downingtown East not only won, but also showed off some consistency: they kept Kennett between 16 and 17 points across their sets. The match finished with set scores of 25-16, 25-16, 25-17.

Molly Drake paced Downingtown East's offense, picking up 18 kills. Drake got some help from Paige Vanemon and her 28 assists. Drake was also solid from the service line: she led the team with three aces.

Downingtown East's win bumped their record up to 17-4-4. As for Kennett, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-8.
