Basketball Recap: Central Chargers vs. Southwest Patriots
Central lost against Southwest back in February of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Central Chargers took a 65-60 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Southwest Patriots. While losing is never fun, the Chargers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 379th, while the Patriots are ranked 59th).
Southwest's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Brandon Ashley, who went 7 of 12 on his way to 20 points. Ashley has been hot recently, having also posted two or more steals the last four times he's played. Another player making a difference was Chase Dupree, who went 6 for 13 en route to 17 points.
Central's loss dropped their record down to 8-12. As for Southwest, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 16-2.
