Volleyball Recap: Etowah Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

Etowah entered their tilt with Northgate on Saturday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They came within a single set of losing the streak, but they secured a 2-1 W against the Vikings. For the Eagles, this counts as revenge for the 2-0 victory the Vikings walked away with the last time they faced one another back in August of 2024.

The match was a true back-and-forth as no team won consecutive sets, but in the end it was Etowah who won the one that mattered. The final score came out to 25-19, 20-25, 16-14.

Their offense was headlined by Eden McVay and Shiloh Braddick, who picked up six kills apiece. They got some help from Kaylei Spinks and her 12 assists. Braddick also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with Kayla Harman, racking up three apiece.

Etowah's win bumped their record up to 16-7. As for Northgate, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 12-16 record this season.

Etowah wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 2-0 loss against North Paulding on the 13th. As for Northgate, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Central at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
