Basketball Recap: South Florence's Win on Friday Extends Winning Streak to Four

South Florence proved they can win big last Friday (they won by 33) and on Friday they proved they can win the close ones too. They skirted past the A.C. Flora Falcons 40-38. Winning may never get old, but the Bruins sure are getting used to it with their fourth in a row.

South Florence's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Amari Gamble, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and 11 boards. Gamble has been hot recently, having also posted two or more steals the last four times she's played. Another player making a difference was Harmony Bostick, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 11 rebounds.

South Florence smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 16 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in nine consecutive matchups.

A.C. Flora lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Tamira Delaney, who posted 11 points and seven rebounds. Teonna Draughn was another key player, putting up seven points.

South Florence's record is now 8-2. As for A.C. Flora, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six games, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-8 record this season.

South Florence wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 52-39 loss against Trinity Collegiate on the 28th. As for A.C. Flora, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 63-57 defeat against Wilson on the 28th.
