Basketball Recap: Alabama School for the Deaf Takes a Loss

Alabama School for the Deaf was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss. They were four points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 29-25 heartbreaker at the hands of the Fayetteville Wolves. The Silent Warriors were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Wolves earlier this season, when they won 42-29.

Despite the defeat, Alabama School for the Deaf saw an underclassman step up: freshman Aiyana Fanning almost dropped a double-double with 22 points and nine rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Fanning has scored all season. Angel Maddox was another key player, putting up no points along with ten boards and three steals.

Even though they lost, Alabama School for the Deaf smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive rebounds in three consecutive matchups.

Alabama School for the Deaf's loss dropped their record down to 7-14. As for Fayetteville, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-15.

Alabama School for the Deaf has already played their next contest, a 51-34 defeat against Jacksonville Christian Academy on the 30th. As for Fayetteville, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 41-7 win against Notasulga on the 31st.
