Colonial Heights skates past Southampton with ease

The Colonial Heights Colonials scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Monday. They breezed by Southampton on the road to the tune of 90-61. Colonial Heights has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five matchups by 22 points or more this season.

Tj Freeman continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 23 points along with seven steals and five assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Lashawn Spencer, who scored 12 points along with five assists and five steals.

Southampton's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Christopher Blue, who scored ten points. Another player making a difference was Israel Key, who scored ten points along with two steals.

The victory made it two in a row for Colonial Heights and bumps their season record up to 9-6. As for Southampton, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 9-9.

Colonial Heights won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Thomas Dale at 6:00 p.m. on January 30th. Averaging 70.53 points so far this season, Colonial Heights' high-powered offense has been in full-swing lately, so Thomas Dale better be ready for a challenge. As for Southampton, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Brunswick at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Brunswick is coming into the matchup with eight straight victories on the road, so Southampton is out to stop a team with plenty of momentum.
