Softball Recap: Macdonald Has No Trouble Against Fremont

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Saratoga, MacDonald was happy to have turned things around on Wednesday. Everything went their way against the Fremont Firebirds as they made off with a 12-6 victory. With that win, the Condor brought their scoring average up to 7 runs per game.

Ileyah Sanchez made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out seven batters over seven innings while giving up four earned (and two unearned) runs off eight hits. Sanchez was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-4.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Kyleena Stone, who went 2-for-5 with two RBI and one double.

MacDonald's victory was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 2-4. As for Fremont, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-6.

Looking ahead, MacDonald will be playing at home against Palo Alto at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The Condor's pitchers better be ready for this one: the Vikings have averaged an impressive 7.7 runs per game this season. As for Fremont, they will take on Lynbrook at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The Vikings have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 15.89 runs per game on average), something the Firebirds will no doubt try to take advantage of.
