Basketball Recap: Jase Southall's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Anthony Andrews over Gambell

Anthony Andrews lost against Gambell back in February of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Anthony Andrews Storm lost 70-47 to the Gambell King Polar Bear. The contest marked the Storm's lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Anthony Andrews' loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jase Southall, who made all 6 shots he took racking up 15 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Samuel Elachik, who posted ten points.

Gambell's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Damian Campbell-Newhall, who had 21 points. Tristan Campbell was another key player, putting up 23 points.

This is the second loss in a row for Anthony Andrews and nudges their season record down to 3-2. As for Gambell, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-2.

Anthony Andrews wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 113-75 defeat against Hogarth Kingeekuk Sr. Memorial on the 14th. As for Gambell, they have also already played their next matchup, a 91-51 victory against Aniguiin on the 14th.
