Baseball Recap: Shasta Victorious

Shasta won the last time they faced Truckee and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Wolves came out on top against the Wolverines by a score of 8-3. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Wolves.

Shasta got a great performance from Jayden Oliver as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over five innings pitched. Oliver has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Reed Ranker was excellent, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-4. That's the most runs he has posted since back in March. Eli Kennedy was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-4.

Shasta's victory bumped their record up to 12-10. As for Truckee, with the defeat, they broke their six-game winning streak and moved their record to 14-7.

Coming up, Shasta will host Nevada Union at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Truckee, they will be taking part in a tournament against Central Valley at 9:00 a.m. on Wednesday. The Falcons have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 8.13 runs per game on average), something the Wolverines will no doubt try to take advantage of.
