Softball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Pendleton Heights

Pendleton Heights had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the ten-run drubbing they dealt Jennings County on Saturday. The Arabians were the clear victors by an 11-1 margin over the Panthers. The win was nothing new for the Arabians as they're now sitting on three straight.

Ari Rector was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she pitched six innings while giving up just one earned run off seven hits. What's more, she posted five strikeouts, the most she's had since back in April of 2024. She was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 2-for-3. She has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times she's played.

In other batting news, Ally Carlon was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while going 4-for-4. Those hits marked the first that she got this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Avry Miller, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-4.

Pendleton Heights was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .375. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Pendleton Heights' record now sits at 3-1. As for Jennings County, their defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 4-5.

Looking ahead, Pendleton Heights will look to defend their home field on Monday against Shelbyville at 6:00 p.m. The Golden Bears' pitching crew has only allowed four runs per game this season, so the Arabians' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Jennings County, they didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 16-13 loss against East Central on the 12th.
