Baseball Game Preview: West Nassau Warriors vs. Fernandina Beach Pirates

For the second straight game, West Nassau will face off against Fernandina Beach. The Warriors will face off against the Pirates at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. West Nassau's pitching crew has only allowed 3.6 runs per game this season, so Fernandina Beach's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

West Nassau heads in on the heels of a playoff match on Monday. They fell just short of Fernandina Beach by a score of 6-5. That's two games in a row now that the Warriors have lost by just one run.

For Fernandina Beach's part, Eli Salyer made a splash no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run over four innings pitched. Salyer has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in 14 consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-5 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

In other pitching news, Grady Stevens tossed a big game, pitching 5.1 innings while giving up just two earned runs off five hits.

Back at the plate, the team relied heavily on Trace Farmer, who got on base in three of his six plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.
