Baseball Recap: Palmer Triumphs

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Westfield Technical Academy, Palmer was happy to have turned things around on Wednesday. They walked away with a 5-2 victory over the Granby Rams. The win continues a trend for the Panthers in their matchups with the Rams: they've now won three in a row.

Sebastian Mayberry spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned runs on four hits and racked up 13 Ks. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Luke Haley was incredible, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with four stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Matt Santos, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run.

Palmer's victory bumped their record up to 6-3. As for Granby, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-9.

Looking ahead, Palmer will head out on the road to face off against Smith Vo-Tech at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Granby, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Mahar Regional at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
