Baseball Recap: Cheney's Win on Thursday Extends Winning Streak to Three

Cheney waltzed into their matchup on Thursday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They never let Conway Springs get on the board and left with a 4-0 win. That's the third time they've managed to beat them this season, with their most recent victory being a 7-0 win on Thursday.

Cheney saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Reece Tolar, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one stolen base and one run.

Cheney's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 17-5. The road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Conway Springs, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-14.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Cheney is set to square off against their familiar foe Kingman on Monday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Cardinals 3.7, the Eagles 4) so any runs scored will be well earned. Meanwhile, Conway Springs will take on rival Medicine Lodge on Monday.
