Baseball Recap: Weymouth Extends Winning Streak to Five

Weymouth waltzed into their matchup on Wednesday with four straight wins... but they left with five. They never let the Braintree Wamps get on the board and left with a 4-0 victory. Four seems to be a good number for the Wildcats as the squad scooped up a win with the same number of runs in their previous game.

The result came thanks to Jack Reyes's shutout, as he gave up just two hits and racked up ten Ks. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Alex Munchbach was excellent, going 1-for-3 with one home run. That home run was his first of the season. Andrew Daley was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

Weymouth's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 15-5. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.3 runs on average over those games. As for Braintree, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-5.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Weymouth will take on Brockton at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Braintree, they will square off against Hingham at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
