Softball Recap: Lower Cape May Comes Up Short

Lower Cape May was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They lost 22-2 to the Our Lady of Mercy Academy Villagers. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Villagers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 16-0 back in March.

Lower Cape May's defeat dropped their record down to 2-7. As for Our Lady of Mercy Academy, their win bumped their record up to 3-5.

Lower Cape May didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, a 17-0 loss against Middle Township on the 18th. As for Our Lady of Mercy Academy, they will take on Absegami at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Villagers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Braves have averaged an impressive 7 runs per game this season.
