Softball Recap: Katella Comes Up Short

Katella was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of the Anaheim Colonists. That's two games in a row now that the Knights have lost by just one run.

Dani Neville spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned runs on seven hits and racked up seven Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one walk in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Krystal Barrios made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3.

Katella's defeat dropped their record down to 6-9. As for Anaheim, the victory was the eighth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 13-1.

Katella has already played their next game, a 10-3 win against Santiago on the 9th. As for Anaheim, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 15-3 victory against Western on the 9th.
