Basketball Game Preview: Slippery Rock Rockets vs. Greenville Trojans

The Slippery Rock Rockets will venture away from home to take on the Greenville Trojans at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Slippery Rock will be strutting in after a victory while Greenville will be coming in after a defeat.

Last Saturday, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Slippery Rock beat Cranberry Area 65-61.

Meanwhile, Greenville unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Friday. They were dealt a 75-36 loss at the hands of Sharon. While losing is never fun, the Trojans can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 502nd, while the Tigers are ranked 117th).

Slippery Rock has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 5-2 record this season. As for Greenville, they now have a losing record at 3-4.

Everything came up roses for Slippery Rock against Greenville when the teams last played back in February, as the squad secured a 73-44 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Slippery Rock since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
