Volleyball Recap: Covington Snaps Three-Game Streak of Wins at Home + How To Watch

Covington lost against Terre Haute North Vigo back in September of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Trojans fell 3-1 to the Patriots.

Covington started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The match finished with set scores of 23-25, 25-22, 25-13, 25-23.

Ashlyn Alexander paced Covington's offense, picking up 11 kills. Alexander got some help from Gabby Lewis and her 34 assists. Alexander was also solid from the service line: she led the team with two aces.

Leading Terre Haute North Vigo to victory were Brynn Canup and Abilene Brown. Canup had 37 digs and two aces, while Brown had 38 assists and 22 digs. What's more, Canup racked up ten assists, the most she's had over her last six matchups. Megan Mascari was another key player, getting 12 digs and one assist.

Covington's loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 12-10. As for Terre Haute North Vigo, their victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 7-11.

Coming up, Covington will head out to take on South Newton at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Terre Haute North Vigo, they will venture away from home to square off against Parke Heritage at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
