Baseball Game Preview: Myrtle Hawks vs. Bruce Trojans

For the second straight game, Myrtle will face off against Bruce. The Hawks will square off against the Trojans at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Myrtle has five straight victories, Bruce has eight straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

Myrtle's pitching crew heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They blew past Bruce 10-0. The result was nothing new for the Hawks, who have now won seven matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

The team relied heavily on Drew Stanton, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. The team also got some help courtesy of Wes Stanton, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with three runs and one stolen base.

Myrtle's win bumped their record up to 11-4. As for Bruce, their loss dropped their record down to 2-11.

The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Friday as neither team is afraid to steal. Myrtle has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 2.9 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Bruce struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 3.2 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
