Holgate had lost five games straight , but after bumping their record up to 2-12 on Friday that streak is in the rearview. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Gorham Fayette Eagles a 15-0 shutout. The Tigers' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Lici Escamilla made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with two stolen bases, one triple, and two RBI. Those two RBI gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Lyndee Palte, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. Those two RBI gave her a new career-high. Olivia Sifuentes was another key player, going 1-for-2 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

As for Gorham Fayette, their loss was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-12. Having soared to a lofty 29 runs in the game before, their shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

On Gorham Fayette's side, they saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Willow Mitchell, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base.

Looking ahead, Holgate will square off against Ottoville at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Big Green have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 15.47 runs per game on average), something the Tigers will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Gorham Fayette, they will challenge North Central at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
