Baseball Recap: Friday's Victory Is St. Edward's Seventh in Last Eight Outings

St. Edward proved they can win big on Tuesday (they won by nine) and on Friday they proved they can win the close ones too. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 4-3 win over the Normandy Invaders. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Eagles also won the last time the pair played back in May of 2024.

St. Edward has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 14-11 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.6 runs over those games. As for Normandy, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 9-15.

Looking ahead, St. Edward will challenge Riverside at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Eagles will need to watch out since the Beavers have now posted at least ten runs in their last three contests. Normandy has already played their next game (against Medina Christian Academy), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
