Football Recap: Caden Revelle's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Eastern Randolph over Asheboro + How To Watch

If Eastern Randolph was feeling good fresh off their 41-3 takedown of Providence Grove last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Wildcats took a 20-13 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Asheboro Blue Comets on Friday. The Wildcats were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Blue Comets apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in August of 2024.

Several Wildcats players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Caden Revelle, who picked up 160 receiving yards and a pair of touchdowns. Revelle showed off some serious burst, lighting up the secondary with a catch for 51 yards. Another passer making a difference was Cade McCallum, who threw for 227 yards and two TDs.

Asheboro's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Connor Brinton led the charge by rushing for 134 yards and one score on only 15 carries. Dallas Brinton was another key player, rushing for 54 yards and one touchdown.

Eastern Randolph's defeat dropped their record down to 3-2. As for Asheboro, they pushed their record up to 5-0 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road.

Coming up, Eastern Randolph will head out to take on West Stanly at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. After each having a week off, Asheboro and Northern Guilford will shake off the rust and duke it out at 7:30 p.m. on October 3. The match will give the Blue Comets their first taste of in-conference action this season.
