Basketball Game Preview: Montpelier Solons vs. Hazen Wildcats

Montpelier has gone a perfect 6-0 against Hazen recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Saturday. The Solons will face off against the Wildcats at 3:30 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

On Thursday, Montpelier was able to grind out a solid win over North Country Union, taking the game 60-48. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Solons.

Meanwhile, Hazen made easy work of Lake Region on Thursday and carried off a 63-39 victory. The Wildcats have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven contests by 22 points or more this season.

Hazen's win bumped their record up to 13-4. As for Montpelier, their victory bumped their record up to 10-7.

Everything came up roses for Montpelier against Hazen in their previous matchup back in February of 2025, as the squad secured an 81-33 win. Will the Solons repeat their success, or do the Wildcats have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
