Soccer Game Preview: Derry vs. Yough + How To Watch

Derry is 0-4 against Yough since August of 2023 but things could change on Thursday. The Trojans will square off against the Cougars at 7:00 p.m. Derry has given up an average of 5.7 goals per game this season, but Thursday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Derry fell victim to Mt. Pleasant and their airtight defense on Thursday. They came up short against the Vikings, falling 8-0. While losing is never fun, Derry can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania soccer rankings (they are ranked 522nd, while Mt. Pleasant are ranked 239th).

Meanwhile, after soaring to four goals the game before, Yough was a bit more limited in their match on Tuesday. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of Mt. Pleasant. Yough have struggled against Mt. Pleasant recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive lost matchup.

The loss was their first on the road , dropping their record down to 10-3. As for Derry, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-7-1.

Derry might still be hurting after the 4-1 loss they got from Yough when the teams last played back in September. Can the Trojans avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
