Preview: Pendleton Heights Arabians vs. Greenfield-Central Cougars

The Pendleton Heights Arabians will head out on the road to face off against the Greenfield-Central Cougars at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Pendleton Heights comes in on four and Greenfield-Central on three.

Last Friday, everything went Pendleton Heights' way against Shelbyville as Pendleton Heights made off with a 28-7 victory. Given Pendleton Heights' advantage in MaxPreps' Indiana football rankings (they are ranked 46th, while Shelbyville is ranked 137th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Among those leading the charge was Isaac Wilson, who rushed for 35 yards and two touchdowns. Drake Stevens made the highlight reel by snagging an interception and taking it all the way to the house.

Meanwhile, Greenfield-Central got the win against New Castle on Friday by a conclusive 44-20. Greenfield-Central pushed the score to 42-14 by the end of the third, a deficit New Castle cut but never quite recovered from.

Dallas Freeman was a one-man wrecking crew for Greenfield-Central as he rushed for 134 yards and a touchdown on only five carries, and also threw for 154 yards and three touchdowns while completing 75% of his passes. Freeman was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 67 yards. Another player making a difference was Kirk Knecht, who picked up 58 receiving yards and two touchdowns.

Pendleton Heights has been no stranger to the win column this season, as they've started out with wins in seven of their first nine matchups, giving them a 7-2 record. As for Greenfield-Central, their win was their fourth straight on the road, which bumped their overall record up to 8-1.

Pendleton Heights came up short against Greenfield-Central in their previous meeting back in September, falling 43-38. Can Pendleton Heights avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
