Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Appleton North). They were the clear victors by a 28-6 margin over the Oshkosh West Wildcats on Friday. Given the Lightning's advantage in MaxPreps' Wisconsin football rankings (they are ranked 23rd, while the Wildcats are ranked 133rd) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

The victory made it two in a row for Appleton North and bumps their season record up to 3-1. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 14 points in those games. As for Oshkosh West, they are on a six-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-4.
