            The Brighton Cardinals will challenge the South Gibson Hornets at 2:00  p.m.  on Saturday. Brighton is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 2.9  goals per game  this season.
Brighton had to skate by with only a one-goal margin when they last took the pitch, which might have inspired the three-goal drubbing they dealt Kirby on Friday. The Cardinals blew past the Cougars 5-2. The high-flying offensive performance was a huge turnaround for Brighton considering their one-goal performance the  game before.
Their offense was hitting Kirby from everywhere, as five different players booted in a goal.
 Meanwhile, South Gibson fought the good fight in their overtime  match against Crockett County  on Wednesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They took  a  4-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Cavaliers. It was the first time  this season that South Gibson let down their fans at home.
 Brighton is  on a roll lately: they've  won nine of their last 12 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-8-1 record  this season. Those  victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as  they  scored 37  goals over those 12  games. As for South Gibson, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-6-1.
