Volleyball Recap: Hinsdale Central Takes Loss Despite Strong Efforts from Harry Hughes and Ken Reodica

It was a good run, but Hinsdale Central unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Tuesday. They fell 2-0 to the Lyons Lions. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Red Devils of the 2-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.

While Hinsdale Central ultimately came up short, they didn't go down without a fight: they scored at least 20 points in every set they played. The final score came out to 25-21, 25-20.

Hinsdale Central's loss came despite strong showings from Ken Reodica and Harry Hughes. Reodica had 14 digs, while Hughes had 14 assists and four digs. Hughes has been hot for a while, having posted 12 or more assists the last 13 times he's played.

Hinsdale Central's loss dropped their record down to 10-23. As for Lyons, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight games. That's provided a nice bump to their 25-8 record this season.

Hinsdale Central and Lyons are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. The Red Devils will take on Nazareth Academy at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Lyons, they will square off against St. Francis at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
