League recap: Parrish races to league-leading run for Interlake

Interlake's DeJhion Parrish rumbled for the longest rushing play in 2A/3A KingCo this season in his game against Lake Washington last week. Parrish ran for 80 yards on the play and finished with 265 on the day as his team fell to the Kangaroos.

Liberty moved up to 113 from 156 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. The Patriots were able to move up by defeating Mercer Island 35-28.

Parrish was a force in the backfield as Interlake lost to Lake Washington.

Parrish was a passing and rushing force as David Myers' team lost to Stephen Supple's team. Parrish's key target this week was Parrish, who caught 3 passes for 33 yards.

Tavin Montgomery threw for 181 yards and 2 touchdowns.

Parrish was the most successful running back in the league this week. In 18 carries, he ran for 265 yards as the Saints defeated Sammamish. Teammate Alvin Manalastas added to the ground attack by rushing for 28 yards.

Juanita's offense cannot be tamed this season and the Rebels feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Montgomery has thrown for 1,442 yards and 14 touchdowns this season, while Milburn has 40 catches for 695 yards.

Fans will be treated to a premier battle in the secondary when the Rebels' Milburn goes up against the Kangaroos' Josh Wikel.

Next week's game between Juanita and Lake Washington will feature an aerial matchup as Montgomery tests his arm against Wikel's defensive ability.

An important game coming up in 2A/3A KingCo this week will be when Bellevue takes on Liberty. As it stands, the Wolverines are in first, while Steve Valach's team is in fourth.

There should be lots of points scored when Shaun Tarantola's team and the Kangaroos face off this week. The top two offenses in the league, the Rebels comes in having scored 240 this season, while Lake Washington has scored 79. Juanita scored 52 points last week as it bested the Totems.

Bellevue extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating Mount Si, 52-13. The victory was the seventh in a row for the team.
