Football Recap: Bishop's Takes a Loss

Despite a strong season so far, Bishop has seen their luck take a bit of a downturn recently. They took a hard 28-9 fall against the Santa Fe Christian Eagles on Friday. While losing is never fun, the Knights can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California football rankings (they are ranked 346th, while the Eagles are ranked 137th).

Cash Herrera threw for 167 yards on 19 of 35 attempts. Dane Larson was his top target, picking up 69 receiving yards.

Santa Fe Christian's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Lincoln Mundis, who rushed for 70 yards and one score. Those 70 rushing yards gave Mundis a new career-high. Another passer making a difference was Dax Labrum, who threw for 202 yards and a pair of touchdowns while completing 73.3% of his passes.

Bishop's defeat dropped their record down to 7-3. As for Santa Fe Christian, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 10-0.

As of now, neither Bishop's nor the Eagles have any future games scheduled.
