Recap: Linton-Stockton Miners vs. Evansville Memorial Tigers

The Linton-Stockton Miners lost against the Evansville Memorial Tigers back in January of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. Linton-Stockton took a 47-38 hit to the loss column at the hands of Evansville Memorial. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Linton-Stockton in their matchups with Evansville Memorial: they've now lost three in a row.

Sophie Johnson was her usual excellent self, scoring 19 points along with six rebounds for Evansville Memorial. Johnson hasn't dropped below 15points for three straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Avery Kelley, who scored seven points along with eight rebounds.

Linton-Stockton's loss dropped their record down to 14-6. As for Evansville Memorial, they pushed their record up to 15-3 with that win, which was their 16th straight at home dating back to last season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Linton-Stockton will take on Bloomfield at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Evansville Memorial, they will stay at home for another game and welcome Mt. Vernon at 7:00 p.m. on January 16th. Mt. Vernon comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 25 points in their last four games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse.
