Baseball Game Preview: Salt Fork Storm vs. Monticello Sages

Salt Fork is 0-3 against Monticello since April of 2022 but things could change on Wednesday. The Storm will be playing in front of their home fans against the Sages at 4:30 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Salt Fork's pitching crew heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Monday. They were the clear victors by a 15-0 margin over Schlarman. The Storm haven't had any issues with the Hilltoppers recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive victory against them.

Meanwhile, Monticello came tearing into Monday's contest with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 6.5 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They put the hurt on the Trojans with a sharp 12-3 win. Monticello's victory was all the more impressive since the Trojans were averaging only 3.46 runs allowed on the season.

Monticello's win was their seventh straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 15-3. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.3 runs over those games. As for Salt Fork, their win bumped their record up to 10-4.
