Preview: Lexington Minutemen vs. Holden Eagles

Lexington is 8-2 against Holden since February of 2019, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Thursday. The Lexington Minutemen will stay at home for another game and welcome the Holden Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on February 8th. Hopefully Lexington is not getting complacent, as they presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Holden in Missouri (Lexington is ranked 195th, while Holden is ranked 496th).

Lexington put the finishing touches on their sixth blowout victory of the season on Friday. They blew past Carrollton 66-26 at home.

Meanwhile, Holden's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight defeat. They were dealt a 74-37 loss at the hands of Richmond. Holden was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 40-17.

Despite the defeat, Holden saw an underclassman step up: Kolby Hill scored 15 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kasyn Tevis, who scored seven points.

Lexington's win bumped their record up to 13-6. As for Holden, they dropped their record down to 3-17 with that defeat, which was their fourth straight at home.

Lexington won a match that couldn't have been any closer when the teams last played back in February of 2023, slipping by Holden 61-60. Does Lexington have another victory up their sleeve, or will Holden turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
