Basketball Recap: Strasburg Picks Up Third Consecutive Victory

If Platte Valley wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Strasburg, they should've done a better job of containing Tyce Bollers. The Strasburg Indians strolled past the Platte Valley Broncos with points to spare on Tuesday, taking the game 59-41 thanks in part to Bollers, who went 8 for 14 on his way to 25 points. He continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played.

Another player making a difference was Brody Hopwood, who posted eight points. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in assists (four).

When it comes to explaining why Platte Valley lost, don't look at Regan Edstrom. Despite the final result, he went 7 of 17 en route to 20 points. Edstrom's evening made it nine games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Hazen Weber was another key player, putting up eight points.

The victory (which was Strasburg's third in a row) raised their record to 13-2. As for Platte Valley, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-11.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Strasburg will host Highland at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Strasburg has been dominant on offense recently, having racked up an incredible 200 points over their last three matches. As for Platte Valley, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Windsor Charter Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Platte Valley is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 50.8 points per game this season.
