Baseball Recap: Kiefer Find Success

Kiefer came out on top against Stigler on Tuesday thanks in part to the team's impressive four-run seventh inning. The Trojans had just enough and edged out the Panthers 6-5. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 3-1 on Monday.

Ranson Stephens spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and four unearned) runs on seven hits.

On the hitting side, Trent Cantrell and Rhyder Stephens did most of the damage at the plate: Cantrell got on base in all four of his plate appearances with one run, while Rhyder went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double. That's the most hits Stephens has posted over his last five contests.

Kiefer is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-7 record this season. As for Stigler, their loss ended a six-game streak of away wins and brought them to 19-4.

Looking ahead, Kiefer will welcome Dewar at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Trojans 2.5, the Dragons 2.7) so any runs scored will be well earned. Stigler does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
