Recap: Battery Creek Dolphins vs. North Charleston Cougars
The Battery Creek Dolphins's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their fourth straight loss. They had to suffer through a rough 64-34 loss at the hands of North Charleston. Battery Creek has not had much luck with North Charleston recently, as the team's come up short the last five times they've met.
Despite the defeat, Battery Creek had strong showings from Ethan Cox, who scored eight points along with seven rebounds and three steals, and Ethan White, who scored six points.
Battery Creek struggled to work together and finished the game with only three assists. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as North Charleston posted 16 assists.
North Charleston can attribute much of their success to Marcus Simmons, who scored 19 points along with seven rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Simmons has scored all season. Constance King was another key contributor, scoring six points along with five steals.
Battery Creek has not been sharp recently, as they've lost six of their last eight contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-9 record this season. As for North Charleston, the win was the seventh in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 13-8.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Battery Creek will take on Beaufort at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Beaufort focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 16 on Tuesday. As for North Charleston, they will play host again and welcome Hanahan, where tip off is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Hanahan will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps South Carolina Rankings (they are ranked 203rd, while North Charleston is ranked 81st).
