Volleyball Recap: Homewood-Flossmoor's Undefeated Season over After 14 Games

Homewood-Flossmoor was the 2-0 winner over Reavis when they last played one another back in March, but their luck changed this time around. The Vikings fell just short of the Rams by a score of 2-1 on Tuesday. The contest marked the Vikings' lowest-scoring match so far this season.

The 2-1 score doesn't really reflect how close the match was: every set was decided by two points or less. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 23-25, 25-23, 25-23.

Having lost for the first time this season, Homewood-Flossmoor fell to 13-1. As for Reavis, their victory was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 13-2.

Homewood-Flossmoor and Reavis should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Illinois Rankings. The Vikings will take on Oak Forest at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday with a big rank advantage (8 vs. 166). Meanwhile, Reavis (ranked 27th) will meet Richards (ranked 150th) at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
