Recap: North Thurston Rams vs. Capital Cougars
The North Thurston Rams scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Monday. They claimed a resounding 71-39 victory over Capital at home. North Thurston has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight matches by 24 points or more this season.
North Thurston was led to victory by Liam Sheeran and Ray Adams. Sheeran scored ten points along with seven steals and six assists, while Adams scored 19 points along with three steals and two blocks. Sheeran hasn't dropped below two steals for three straight games. Another player making a difference was Melo Delacruz, who scored ten points along with five rebounds.
North Thurston is on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 12 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 15-2 record this season. As for Capital, they dropped their record down to 3-12 with that defeat, which was their sixth straight on the road.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. North Thurston will face off against Peninsula at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Peninsula will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Washington Rankings (they are ranked 247th, while North Thurston is ranked 24th). As for Capital, they will head out on the road to challenge Gig Harbor at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Gig Harbor will be looking to extend their current six-game winning streak.
