Volleyball Recap: Concord Bears vs. Freedom Falcons

Concord was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss dating back to last season. They lost 3-0 to the Freedom Falcons. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Bears of the 3-1 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in March of 2024.

While Concord had to settle for second, they sure made a game of it, scoring at least 19 points in every set they played. The final score came out to 25-22, 25-23, 25-19.

Jumaiya Tabayoyong paced Concord's offense, picking up 14 kills. Tabayoyong got some help from Levi Serrano and his 25 assists. Serrano was also solid from the service line: he led the team with five aces.

Concord's loss dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Freedom, their victory ended a five-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-3.

Concord didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 3-1 defeat against Berean Christian on the 4th. As for Freedom, they have also already played their next game, a 3-2 loss against Acalanes on the 5th.
