Woodlake comes up short despite Hugo Cruz's dominant performance

The Woodlake Tigers lost against the Orange Cove Titans back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Woodlake suffered a rough 60-34 defeat at the hands of Orange Cove. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Woodlake in their matchups with Orange Cove: they've now lost three in a row.
When it comes to explaining why Woodlake lost, one person who can't be blamed is Hugo Cruz. Despite the final result, he scored 22 points. Cruz scored a full 64.7% of Woodlake's points, the sixth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Woodlake's loss dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Orange Cove, their win bumped their record up to 5-8.
Woodlake won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Orosi at 10:00 a.m. on December 16th. Hopefully Orosi focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 17 on Thursday. Orange Cove won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Non Varsity Opponent at 8:00 a.m. on December 16th. Non Varsity Opponent has now lost seven straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 13.
