Volleyball Game Preview: Castaic Coyotes vs. Burbank Bulldogs

The Castaic Coyotes and the Burbank Bulldogs will meet in a dog eat dog contest at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

On Thursday, Castaic came up short against Golden Valley and fell 3-1. The Coyotes have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

The loss didn't mean the game wasn't competitive: Golden Valley scored at least 17 points in every set. The match finished with set scores of 25-23, 25-17, 27-29, 25-22.

Meanwhile, Burbank's undefeated season came to an end after three games on Tuesday. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of Golden Valley. The loss was the Bulldogs' first of the season.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-15, 25-21, 23-25, 25-20.

Having lost for the first time this season, Burbank fell to 3-1. As for Castaic, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-3.

Everything went Castaic's way against Burbank in their previous matchup back in February of 2024, as Castaic made off with a 3-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Castaic since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
