Baseball Game Preview: Ross Little Giants vs. Southview Cougars

Ross is preparing for their first conference matchup of the season on Monday. They will host the Southview Cougars at 5:00 p.m. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.

Ross is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They were the clear victors by an 11-1 margin over Start on Friday. The team's explosion at the plate also rewarded the Little Giants with their most commanding win of the season.

Cameron Joseph made a splash no matter where he played. He pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Joseph was also big at the plate, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3. Ross is undefeated when Joseph posts two or more runs, but 1-3 otherwise.

In other pitching news, Zavior Esquivel looked comfortable as he tossed three innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits.

Back at the plate, Cade Reineck was excellent, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one double. Those two RBI gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Breylen Garza, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-2.

Ross hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Start struck out seven times.

Meanwhile, Southview never let their opponents score on Saturday. They blew past Rossford 16-0. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Cougars.

Ross now has a winning record of 4-3. As for Southview, they now have a winning record of 3-2.
