The Ben Holt College Prep Academy Bobcats waltzed into Saturday's match with two straight wins but they left with three. They managed a 51-45 victory over McClatchy. Given Ben Holt College Prep Academy's advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 386th, while McClatchy is ranked 985th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Tayden Collins continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 21 points and 23 rebounds. The match was his ninth in a row with at least ten points. Sahil Singh was another key contributor, scoring 8 points.
McClatchy's lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Eugene Castillo, who scored 18 points along with 6 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Kendall Andrews, who scored 8 points along with 14 rebounds.
Even though they lost, McClatchy were smashing the offensive glass and finished the game with 21 offensive rebounds. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Ben Holt College Prep Academy only pulled down 11.
Ben Holt College Prep Academy's win bumped their record up to 7-2. As for McClatchy, their loss dropped their record down to 2-5.
