Baseball Recap: P.K. Yonge Comes Up Short

P.K. Yonge lost against Dixie County back in April of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. P.K. Yonge came up short against Dixie County, falling 21-11. The Blue Wave have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Micah Gratto was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring three runs and stealing three bases while going 2-for-4. He is becoming a predictor of P.K. Yonge's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 2-1 (and 6-7 when he doesn't). Another player making a difference was Colt Kramer, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3.

P.K. Yonge's loss dropped their record down to 8-8. As for Dixie County, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-11.

Looking ahead, P.K. Yonge will challenge Saint Francis Catholic at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Saint Francis Catholic will roll in looking for their seventh straight victory, something P.K. Yonge surely won't give up without a fight. As for Dixie County, they will welcome Bell at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
