Softball Recap: Dixon Snaps Three-Game Streak of Losses at Home

The home team had won the previous four meetings between Dixon and Croatan, and Dixon kept the tradition alive. The Bulldogs' pitcher stepped up to hand the Cougars a 6-0 shutout on Friday. This was a revenge game for the Bulldogs: when they faced off against the Cougars back in March, they had to take a 9-0 defeat.

The result came thanks to Kailei Dawsey's shutout, as she gave up just two hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Lilly Keeling, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI. Aubrey Ray was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs.

Dixon's win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 9-13. As for Croatan, they dropped their record down to 9-9 with the loss, which was their third straight on the road.

As of now, neither Dixon nor the Cougars have any future games scheduled.
